Novi, Michigan Wednesday, June 11, 2019 – 1:46 p.m -1:48 pm proceedings convened Magistrate Richardson: Calling People versus Nicholas Maximillian Remington, case 19-002619. Please raise your right hand. Do you swear or affirm to tell the truth in this matter?

Detective Balog: Yes, I do, your Honor.

Magistrate Richardson: Your name?

Detective Balog: Detective Balog, Novi Police Department, County of Oakland.

Magistrate Richardson: Please give us a factual basis with respect to this complaint and warrant.

Detective Balog: Your Honor, on March 19, 2019, I was summoned to the scene of a death investigation at 23132 Meadowbrook Road.

The home was owned by the Wiedmaier family. Upon arrival we were investigating the death of victim Denis Preka who had attended a get together that previous evening and stayed the night. He was found dead in that morning. The autopsy revealed that Mr. Preka had died of drug intoxication and later found toxicology reports that the drugs that caused the death were MDMA and MDA.

Through the investigation it was determined that he was provided those drugs MDMA and the MDA methylone, methylene by Nicholas Remington and we are seeking delivery of controlled substance causing death charges. [pg 3]

Magistrate Richardson: Based on those facts I find probable cause. Complaint and warrant is authorized.
